Work that is not turned in on time for whatever reason must be made up with in 5 school days. Work that is not made up within that time period will be given a grade of a NHI (zero). Late work may not receive a score greater than 70 (mastery of content). If a student receives an assessed grade of less than 70 (and is not late), the student may attempt to improve that with a retake within the same period as is allowed for make-up work: within 5 school days of the assignment being returned.
GRADING ABBREVIATIONS NOTES:
0 = means that a zero was earned for the assignment.
NHI = means that the work was not turned in. Late work will be accepted, but there will be a 30 point penalty and not eligible for correction.
2 = means that you were absent and need to turn in the work ASAP, if not turned in, in the time allowed it will turn into a NHI and be considered late.
3 = means that your absence was unexcused and until it is fixed, when fixed the grade will change to what you earned. Please remember that you only have three days to fix absences.
MAKE UP WORK:
A student must report to Mrs. Duckett immediately following an absence. You will be given one day to makeup work for each day of an excused absence. You will be able to check absences and grades from your home computer or cell phone, with the Parent Portal.
